In hidden corners of our communities, there exists a group of remarkable young individuals whose courage and compassion often goes unnoticed.
They are the young people – aged between 5 and 25 - who, due to circumstances beyond their control, find themselves taking on roles far beyond their years. Theirs is a world where responsibility outweighs play and leisure, where maturity is earned through resilience, and where the burden of care is shouldered with unwavering love and commitment.
But amidst the challenge, we provide help. Young Carers SA stands firm with a simple yet powerful promise: to ensure these young caregivers are not only seen and heard but also fully supported. Our mission is to illuminate their stories, to amplify their voices, and to provide the resources and programs they need to create a future where aspirations are not just dreams, but tangible realities within their reach.
Young Carers SA programs and services are designed with empathy and understanding, we empower these young people to navigate their unique journey with confidence and courage. From our Career Academy, First Aid Education, MediGuide and Young Carer Refresh Camps, our programs are devised to meet their specific needs, - fostering a community where no one feels alone in their caregiving role.
Our mission is to empower and support young people who courageously care. Through our programs and services, we strive to ensure young carers are seen, heard, and supported in their journey. By raising awareness, providing tailored resources, and advocating for their needs, we aim to foster a community where every child in a caregiving role can thrive and fulfill their potential
