Young Carers SA, a program of Carer & Community SA, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Brigid Koenig as its General Manager, following three months of consulting to the organisation through her business The Purpose Driven Leader.

A widely respected not-for-profit leader, Brigid brings a deep passion for empowering youth and a commitment to their growth.

In her role as General Manager, Brigid will oversee the development of services and programs, forge valued partnerships, build foundational supports and ensure Young Carers SA’s ongoing growth and success.

The organisation plays a crucial role in supporting young people who take on significant caregiving roles for family members, by raising awareness, providing tailored programs, and advocating for their needs.

While taking on the role of General Manager of Young Carers SA, Brigid will continue to build her consultancy business, The Purpose Driven Leader, to help leaders in the not-for-profit sector thrive.

The Purpose Driven Leader draws on Brigid’s more than 10 years of experience to build capability and support leadership growth, aligning perfectly with her mission to drive positive change both in the lives of young people and the broader sector.

Brigid’s most recent role as Chief Executive Officer of a well-known South Australian charity saw her drive the expansion of the organisation’s national reach and deliver a 500% growth in program participation. Her experience and leadership will be invaluable as she brings Young Carers SA’s vision to life, ensuring young carers are seen, heard, and supported to reach their full potential.
